Louisville Slugger Large Back Pack, Black – $49.95
Got this for my 14 year old. Replaced a large rolling Boombah bag, and is very functional. Bottom pouch great for cleats or extra glove. Large main pouch for helmet, batting gloves, jacket and more. Son keeps first basemen’s glove in the main pouch, and his other glove in the front expandable open section. Carries two bats; clips are nice for keeping bat in place; not all batpacks have the clips. Bat sleeve large enough for big barrel bats. There is also a net sleeve for a water bottle.
Great while it lasted, but lasted only spring and summer travel ball – the top of the bag quickly developed a large rip in the nylon between the carry handle and the top zipper – clearly a stress rip between the main compartment zipper and the body of the bag. This bag is made of sturdy canvas material, like the Boombah (which lasted 4-plus years of travel ball, though looking worse for the wear!). This is not an inexpensive bag; I would’ve expected it to wear better.
Will definitely go with a batpack again as they are easier for the boys to lug around than the long bags, and will look for one with this much room, but I will first check other bags reviews for durability before investing in the Louisville Slugger again. If all the same, will repurchase this one!
Have a great season!
